Welcome to the Sologix ‘Understanding Finance’ course.

The aim of this course is to help you gain a better understanding of the reports used to manage your business, and to make sense of the numbers presented so that you can make smarter decisions.

Owners, managers and employees of any business will benefit from learning which reports to look for and what to do with that information.

Our approach to improving your business rests on two pillars. We use the business model canvas developed by Strategyzer as the basic template to evaluate your business model. We integrate that with the GrowthWheel business tools to focus on making decisions and taking action in key areas in need of development.

The course material is made up of four parts:

  • A short article to read as background,

  • A video of approximately an hour broken down into nine bite-sized chapters. The audio is available to download as a single file, to listen to at your convenience,

  • The numbered slide deck that we run through as a guide, which you can print to make notes if you like,

  • The GrowthWheel decision sheets to complete with the information relevant to your business. This can either be completed electronically or printed, whichever suits you best.
